Bubble Boy
This portrait is of my little brother Thomas. He's always great to draw because he has such an expressive face; massive eyes, sticky-out ears and freckles. I was struggling to think of something to draw when I noticed him blowing some bubblegum (hence my completely unoriginal title). His face was almost blue from holding his breath but he was resilient and stuck it out until I got the pictures I needed. I was almost worried it was going to be an in memoriam piece. I quite like how it turned out.
