Competition Rules

  • The competition is open to young people of all abilities.

  • All entrants must be aged 18 or under on Sunday 31st January 2021.

  • All entrants must be living on the island of Ireland.

  • All entrants must have the permission of a parent/guardian to enter and must confirm this on the online submission form.

  • All entries must be submitted online via THIS IS ART! website by the closing date, 8pm Sunday 31st January 2021. This date is final. If your entry is received after this date it will not be submitted to the competition. (Allow plenty of time to upload your entry.)

  • Each entrant must complete and submit an online entry form and upload one image of their artwork plus one verification photo of themselves with their artwork. Entrants must keep the original copy of their artwork for verification purposes should this be required.

  • Each entrant must provide a short artist statement with their submission, detailing the creative process and what their artwork represents.

  • The artwork submitted must be original and created entirely by the entrant. Any copied, traced or plagiarised work will be disqualified.

  • For group submissions, you must state if there was a professional artist or facilitator guiding your project and outline the level of their involvement.

  • The entrant confirms that any person depicted in the entry has granted permission to be portrayed as shown.

  • Only one entry is accepted per individual or group.

  • The submitted entry must not have been/be entered into other art competitions in 2020 & 2021.

Uploading you work

  • Image format: JPG or PNG

  • File size: Each uploaded photograph should be no bigger than 7 MB
