The Present of the Past
During lockdown, I have found solace in learning about various eras, specifically through the work of Jane Austen.
I have also taken to drawing people, but in the style of historical portraits.
This work is a combination of the two.
The monochromatic background symbolises the general consensus that history is dull and drab, while also drawing the eye to the figure in the centre.
